Art Show 2013 - Featuring Lostsentiments, Metal Mind Accessories & Moose Egg Art

Art shows are awesome! Art shows with friends are awesomeR! 

They are so awesome that they are epic! ^-^ Yes.

One of my partners in crime is the creator and designer of Metal Mind Accessories and I've had the pleasure of knowing her and her creative sister for about a year now, though it feels like I've known them forever :). I met them at dance class and our instructor, (being the amazing & giving woman she is) graciously hosted our jewelry /art show at her home mid November. Yes, we covered her walls and tables with jewelry and art by Metal Mind Accessories, Moose Egg Art and Lostsentiments items from my crafty shop as well as art I've done in the past! See?!

     

Yes, that'd be James Dean ;). 

The Jewelry/Art show was a lot of fun! I met some amazing women and had a great time hanging out with my friends. :)

After the new year I plan on having prints of a few of my pictures available for people to purchase online for their homes. I'll share the links once I have them. But for now, I'm showcasing my fabulous friends here ;). I hope you like their jewelry and artwork! :)

Cups of Vintage Love...

...abound! ^-^

The newest etsy crush I have is on a shop called LostInIvorySeas which I happened upon while being "lost" in the great etsy abyss!  I love the way they photograph their items, off centered (ftw!)...  complete with a homey background color and what looks to be linen/cotton table cloth... ahhh... so natural... 

then, as I delved deeper into all the items they have to offer I noticed the succulents in many of their vintage cups! 

*I want! I want! ^-^*

Of all the lovely items though I'd say this one is my favsies...

I very much appreciate the craftmanship of both the cups and saucers. In high school I took a pottery class and know the work that goes into this kind of project. Awe, I miss getting my hands dirty like that ^-^.

I'm looking for items to fill a blank frame in the study right now... 



looking up "leaf art" I found this piece. The jury is still out on what I'll be getting for the frame but wanted to share this piece because this is a talented artist! 

I'm inspired to use a few of my own dried leaves as a project like this in the future! ^-^

Lastly, this lovely work of art my sister shared with me... she had found it on facebook. 

This beautiful video shows the amazing things one can do with their body after working and disciplining themselves... this is *so* graceful! These two seem to dance flawlessly! 

So much strength, poise, control & trust! 

Though the song doesn't have words watching them is so inspiring! I had to share!

Pathfinder Pen and Paper Game + Art = :)

Every other Tuesday night my husband and I have been meeting up with a few friends of ours to play a Dungeons and Dragon type game called Pathfinder. Tonight as we where slaying goblins and investigating local murders in the game we also had a side conversation about art. I have long since put away my charcoal and acrylic paints - high school was the last time I think I've touched acrylic paint though it is one of my favorite mediums. Charcoal, ink wash and acrylic are my favorite :). I remember being flattered in high school when a very talented artist who was in year ahead of me asked how to mix up a certain color, what can I say people knew I'd know ;). I miss drawing but the crocheting I do now takes 1/16th of the time it'd take to pour over a painting or drawing since I'm bit of a perfectionist. Hopefully one day when life slows down a bit I'll get back to it and create a bunch of eye candy for a realism lovers wall :). For now here are a few pieces I'd like to share with you.
